Xiaomi Mi 9 Explorer Version, Xiaomi Mi 9 and Black Shark 2 gaming phone led AnTuTu’s top 10 list of best performing Android smartphones for April. Benchmarking platform the top 10 smartphone list for May 2019 with topnotch results. Between May 1 and May 30 various Chinese flagship phones were checked to gage their performance. It has also tested at least 100 units per model using the latest edition of the AnTuTu benchmarking app to compile the list for the previous month.
The Nubia Red Magic 3 gaming-focused phone has bagged number one position in the top 10 best performing smartphone list with an average benchmarking score of 380,921 as can be seen in the list below. In addition to the Red Magic 3, the ZTE Axon 10 Pro is also a new entrant to the list. With an AnTuTu score of 376,916, the ZTE managed to save the second place.
Xiaomi apps occupy next positions on the list. The Xiaomi Mi 9 Explorer Edition with an AnTuTu score of 376.092 is on third place. It is followed by gaming smartphone Black Shark 2 with a benchmarking score of 374,736. Placed in fifth place is Xiaomi Mi 9, with a 372.422 score.
With an AnTuTu score of 370,315, the Meizu 16s occupied sixth place. One additional new entrant to the list is OnePlus 7 Pro. The OnePlus phone now sits at the seventh position on the ranking, with an average benchmarking score of 368,834. The Lenovo Z6 Pro has a score of 363.399 on the eight-position. The Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10 + are in positions ninth and tenth. They have respectively scored 362,450 and 361,394.
It’s disappointing to see the OnePlus 7 Pro manage to only secure seventh position on the list. AnTuTu has said it is because of the display’s high refresh rate that more power is used. Thus, the operating system running on the phone has been designed to improve its durability and is not taking full advantage of the capacity of the Snapdragon 855 mobile platform. Hence, the smartphone has acquired low average benchmarking score on AnTuTu.
The Vivo iQOO is no longer on the list, as its average benchmarking score is less than 360k. AnTuTu reported that after the latest software update, the phone’s AnTuTu score went down. All the ten phones that made it into the top 10 best performing Android phones list for May 2019 are powered by 855 chipset Snapdragon. None of the Kirin 985 SoC driven phone are present on the list. Probably, the upcoming Honor 20 and Honor 20 Pro phones may make it to the list in the next month’s AnTuTu’s top 10 list of best performing Android phone.
Oddly enough, the OPPO 10x Zoom Edition falls from the chart. Hopefully it will appear in the AnTuTu list for next month along with some other phones including Redmi K20 Pro and OnePlus 7.
