An elegant design

The U2790PQU features an IPS panel of 4K (3840 x 2160), 60Hz refresh rate, light matte anti-glare finish, outstanding color precision and a broad range of colors. The monitor is equipped with a matte silver (satin finish) bottom bezel and a stand neck with a silver vinyl effect finish to the disc-shaped base. The top and bottom bezels are part of the “3-Sides frameless” layout, using a double-stage bezel with a slim hard exterior element and a thin panel border. When the monitor is switched off, the panel border blends in seamlessly. The OSD (On Screen Display) is regulated from the front side by a joystick at the back of the screen.

An elegant design

In addition to viewing angles of 178°/178° and 10-bit color support, a static contrast ratio of 1000:1 is specified. A flicker-free WLED backlight is used, with a luminance of 350 cd/m². Also specified is a 5ms grey to grey response time, while Low Blue Light (LBL) settings to improve viewing comfort.

The Low Blue Light (LBL) is helpful in the hours leading to bed, where exposure to blue light should be minimized to prevent sleep hormone interference. The included stand attaches by means of a quick release mechanism (button behind the stand neck) and offers complete ergonomic flexibility; tilt, swivel, height (130 mm or 5.12 inches) and pivot adjustment (90 ° portrait rotation). If preferred, it can be removed to disclose 100 x 100 mm VESA holes for alternative mounting. The main ports are down-firing and include: DP 1.2, HDMI 2.0, HDMI 1.4, 3.5 mm headphone jack and an AC energy input (inner energy converter). Also included are 2 x USB 3.0 ports, rearward facing, with the top one with yellow coloring supporting fast loading of connected appliances. Also included are 2x 2W speakers for fundamental sound production.

Good flexibility

The monitor has been available for a number of months in the Asia-Pacific region and is set to be released soon in Europe and possibly other regions. A release for the UK in July 2019 and MSRP £ 299 has been confirmed.
