Oppo A1K is a budget-friendly Android smartphone. OPPO’s ‘A’ range of smartphones focuses more on battery, durability and display.

Featuring a Water Drop Notch and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, the OPPO A1K comes with a 6.1-inch (1560 x 720 pixels) HD+ display. The design of the A1K is decent and easy to carry in hand. The body is made of plastic with a metallic matte finish, and it comes in two colours Black and Red.

The OPPO A1 K has a ~ 79.89% screen to body ratio and a 19:9 aspect ratio.

The top of the device is kept plain.

On the left, is the dual SIM, microSD slot tray and the volume rocker. The A1K supports Memory Card up to 256 GB. The advantage of memory cards is that they offer more storage capacity to your phone. So more songs, photos, and videos can be stored.

On the right, is the power button.

It has an 8 MP Camera, with AutoFocus at the back with LED flash, there’s no fingerprint scanner on this device.

At the bottom, you’ll find a 3.5mm headphone jack. Next to the headphone jack is a mic, a micro USB v2.0 port, and a speaker grill.


The Oppo A1K comes with a 6.1-inch IPS LCD screen with Water Drop Notch. The screen has a resolution of 720 x 1560 pixels and a 271 PPI density. The A1K has a responsive touch screen that’s capacitive and MultiTouch — giving you a more interactive experience.

The A1k has two cameras, an 8MP camera with f2.2 aperture with Autofocus on the back, an LED flash and one 5MP selfie camera on the front. You can take photos in low light by using the camera LED flash.

Some of the camera features include Digital Zoom, Auto Flash, Face detection, Touch to focus. The back camera is just for taking photos, and in a well-lit environment, it manages to deliver pictures with excellent details. The photos suffer from poor details and visible distortion in dark backgrounds indoors and low light.

The camera at the back supports video recording while the front camera allows you to take selfie pictures and do video calling.

Selfies taken on the front camera is average. While the 5MP front camera isn’t the best in its class, it does an excellent job capturing those moments of everyday life.

Oppo A1k smartphone runs on Android v9.0 (Pie) operating system with ColorOS 6.0 and powered by 2 GHz, Octa Core Processor and features a PowerVR GE8320 GPU. It runs on the Mediatek Helio P22 Chipset.

For the full-screen experience, ColorOS also has its navigation gestures. It also has some useful features, such as Smart Assistant and Smart Driving.

The Oppo A1k performs smoothly without any problems while multi-tasking.

For gamers, it runs most high definition games smoothly. You won’t notice any lag playing massive graphics games when you select the lowest resolution from the in-game settings.

OPPO has a face unlock feature that uses the front camera to unlock the phone. The Face Unlock feature is fast and reliable in most lighting conditions.

Battery Life

The A1K comes with a non-removable 4000 mAh, Li-Po Battery without fast charging. The battery life on the A1K will almost take you throughout the day in a single charge.

You may get roughly 16 hours of use before juicing up.

Should You Buy The Oppo A1K

You should be able to get this phone for ₦ 39,900 ($110) within this price range on Jumia Nigeria or Konga.com.

The Oppo A1K is a mid-range smartphone that is simple, and sleek. So you shouldn’t expect the best performance from it.
